Eucalyptus trees are evergreen trees that are native to Australia. There are many species of eucalyptus from short shrubs to tall slender trees. The bark is a blue-grey color and peels off in strips to reveal yellow patches underneath. Sometimes, a red resin exudes through breaks in the bark, hence the tree’s other name – the gum tree.
Eucalyptus was widely used by indigenous Australians for making tools, spears, shields, and musical instruments. Leaves of certain species were soaked in water to make a healing tea.
Oil from the leaves of eucalyptus trees is now used worldwide for its antiseptic qualities and fresh scent for clearing congestion to insect repellent.
Eucalyptus branches make beautiful, fragrant decorations for the home, and our eucalyptus branches are cut fresh and carefully preserved out of the sun to retain their color and fragrance. They can be used in wreaths, swags, and garlands, or simply placed in a vase or a bowl. They are also a popular choice for winter decorating. Not only are they attractive they also make your home smell fresh and clean!
And here are some ideas on how to use them.
